| Personal Bio | My husband and I live for nature and connection to nature and its cycles. We have a small homestead where we raise vegetables, herbs, flowers, chickens, a dog, three cats, and maintain habit for the birds and squirrels and heat our home with a woodstove in the winter. We like to live with the land and reduce our impact as much as possible. We are passionate about helping others connect to their land and see the potential to create and maintain ecosystems and habitat. |
| Business Description | My husband Rob Chaunce and I have a small landscaping business on Martha's Vineyard where we work with clients to design their properties in a way that takes into account of the fragile ecosystem and the watershed of the island. We help people to grow food on their properties, minimize the use of fertilizers, and use organic methods only in terms of fertilization and pest control. We encourage low-carbon footprint practices and partner with a local farm to use goats and pigs to clear invasives and unwanted plants. We also operate a small nursery where we grow most of the annual plants (veggies, herbs, and flowers) that we use in our clients gardens and landscapes. |
