| Personal Bio | Michael has a BA in Economics and Political Science from the University of Rochester, and has worked as an economic research analyst, urban forestry economist, and horticulturalist for the City of Rochester. His entrepreneurial projects included leader/organizer for 25 annual motor coach tours to the Philadelphia Flower Show, a natural lawn/landscape company Naturally Green, and five hours of weekly radio broadcasts about gardening, food, wine, and the Finger Lakes for 26 years. | Business Description | Michael started Naturally Green in 1989 as a lawn and landscape company that concentrated on reducing lawn sizes, eliminating the use of synthetic pesticides, and incorporating bio controls such as beneficial nematodes. In 2023 he will be focusing on transitioning lawns to native plantings and edible landscapes on urban, suburban, and commercial properties. For the past ten years he has raised about 150 Monarchs each summer from his small city lot. He has also done extensive scouting for Spotted Lanternfly in the Finger Lakes region. |
