| Personal Bio | Ellen Huffman has a Master of Science in Ecological Design from the Conway School of Landscape Design and managed landscape design and maintenance for an affordable housing agency for two years prior to attending graduate school. Ellen also worked as a trail crew lead and environmental educator in the Pacific Northwest and earned an Urban Permaculture Certificate in Portland, Oregon. Ellen studied Sociology, Psychology, and Theatre at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. While earning an undergraduate degree, Ellen coordinated volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, instructed students in digital photography and videography, and participated in local equity initiatives. | Business Description | LICHEN Ecological Design specializes in designing and installing landscapes that strengthen ecological functioning for the benefit of all species. We work with a range of projects scales from small medicinal gardens to master plans for large acreage properties. We use a “whole-system” approach to plan regenerative landscapes and create best-management strategies for the unique features of each property.
