Congratulations to ELA’s 500th Member!

by Maureen Sundberg

In November, ELA was getting close to welcoming our 500th member and decided to celebrate the 500th person to join ELA. We hoped to get to 500 before the end of the year.

Thanks to your amazing support, we surged past our goal of 500 members in time to announce the winner in December. Congratulations to Todd Haiman in New York City who was ELA’s lucky 500th member. Todd received a free Professional Level membership. He has generously donated the cost of his membership back to ELA, and said he is excited to add ELA’s ballcap to his collection.

Todd owns Todd Haiman Landscape Design, a firm that designs and builds residential gardens and “a lot of roof gardens,” according to Todd. One goal of his designs is to bring nature into the landscape, particularly pollinators. Todd strives to educate his clients on ecological practices using wildlife as a hook. He creates lively environments that highlight “the entertainment value of nature. That’s how I get clients interested and involved.”

Although ELA has recognized Todd’s special position in our membership lineup, we think all our members are winners and appreciate each and every one. Our members’ support makes ELA a stronger, more resourceful alliance. We look forward to welcoming many more new members in 2020.
