Deb Soule
Deb Soule is an herbalist, organic gardener and author of A Woman's Book of Herbs. Raised in a small town in western Maine, Deb began organic gardening and studying the medicinal uses of herbs at age 16. Her faith in the healing qualities of plants and her love of gardening led Deb to create Avena Botanicals Herbal Apothecary and Gardens in 1985. She has spent over 25 years studying the health benefits of herbs and growing medicine plants.
Deb is the author of numerous articles on growing and using medicinal herbs and regularly lectures at herb conferences throughout New England. In 2005 People, Places and Plants magazine named Deb as one of the top 50 most influential gardeners in the Northeast.
