Speaker Bio
Frank S. Rossi, Ph.D., Cornell University
Dr. Frank Rossi is the New York Extension Turfgrass Specialist and Associate Professor of Turfgrass Science at Cornell University. He received AAS degree from Cobleskill, BS and MS from URI and Ph.D. from Cornell University. He served on the faculties at Michigan State University and University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Frank conducts research and outreach education programs in golf and sports turf focused on environmentally responsible management. He also leads the teaching program on golf and sports turf management at Cornell. He is a Contributing Editor for Golfweek’s SuperNews (now TurfNet Magazine and TurfNet.com) where he has been writing a bi-weekly column for nine years. Frank has published dozens of scientific research articles and is well known for his candid thought-provoking talks. Frank just completed a sabbatical leave studying golf and sports turf management in Scandinavian countries. In addition to his work in turf, Frank is the father of three children, a triathlete, an artisan cheesemaker and alpaca farmer.
