Speaker Bio
Julie Major, Cornell University
Julie Major is originally from the countryside outside Montreal, Canada. She has been studying and working in tropical Latin America since 2000. She completed her B.Sc. degree in Agriculture at McGill University in Montreal. Her M.Sc. degree at Cornell involved studying plant ecology on fertile Terra Preta soils of the Brazilian Amazon. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Cornell working on soil fertility as it is impacted by the application of biochar to soil.
