Brian Kane, Ph.D.

Dr. Kane is an ISA Certified Arborist and Tree Climber Specialist who worked for commercial tree care companies for 10 years before becoming a researcher. His areas of expertise include tree biomechanics and tree worker safety, and he has published many articles in scholarly journals and trade publications on these topics. He is vice-chair of the ISA’s Science and Research Committee, on the editorial board of Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, and a member of ISA’s Educational Goods and Services review team. Dr. Kane has competed in 4 regional Tree Climbing Championships, placing fourth in New England in 2006;
