Local Lichens: An Introduction

Lichens, plant-like organisms which are half-algae, half-fungus, are an integral component of ecosystems with diverse roles.
This introductory talk will focus on the biology and ecology of New England lichens and on the special aspects of our local lichen diversity and raise our awareness of their function as indicators of air quality in habitats.
